About Us
Learn like the best.
As an analyst at EIT, you will enter a 10-week program where you will understand the fundamentals of being a professional investor. Through live lectures, self-study, and making real investment decisions, EIT is designed to give you a head start in your finance journey.

Our founding
EIT was founded when two founding members, Sandro Garcia and Jackson Buffett, attended a stock pitching competition. There, they saw groups of students sponsoring various investment clubs, and the conversations they had with them inspired the two to start their own student-run club at FGCU.
Our mission
Our ultimate goal is to educate and empower the next generation of institutional investors, equipping them with the skills, mindset, and discipline needed to thrive in competitive financial careers. We are committed to fostering a collaborative environment where members grow through hands-on experience, structured mentorship, and rigorous training. As a team, we uphold a culture of camaraderie, intellectual honesty, academic rigor, and a deep-dive approach to investment research. We are continuously striving for excellence in everything we do.
Our Approach
EIT is built on a commitment to first-principle thinking, deep research, and real-world investing experience. We believe the best investors are made through rigorous analysis and hands-on practice. Our approach combines bottom-up fundamental analysis with an awareness of macro trends and thematic tailwinds. We focus on identifying quality businesses with long-term competitive advantages, pricing power, and compelling risk-adjusted returns. On the short side, we find businesses that are unable to thrive in their industries or are in a sub-optimal financial position. EIT emphasizes high standards of intellectual honesty, creativity in sourcing ideas, and structured valuation methodologies.
Each semester, members are placed into teams led by senior analysts or portfolio managers. Teams begin by selecting an industry of interest, developing a sector-wide view before drilling down into key sub-segments. Through collaborative industry research, quantitative modeling, and qualitative due diligence, teams identify potential long/short equity opportunities. Members then conduct individual or paired company deep dives, building full investment theses supported by valuation models, KPIs, and catalysts. Final pitches are presented to an investment committee composed of alumni, faculty, and industry mentors who challenge assumptions and provide feedback. This process simulates the workflow of real institutional buy-side teams.
